Jessica Yates is the true definition of Child Advocate Warrior. Ms. Yates has always demonstrated clear understanding of vocalizing the strengths and needs of all children she serves. Ms. Yates advocates for children in and outside of the courtroom. Ms. Yates has always made herself available for staffing whether it is formal and/or in-formal in order to move forward for the best interest of the child. Ms. Yates always ensure the children she serves voices are heard in the midst of chaos and differences among other parties. Ms. Yates ensure permanency is met in a timely manner but more importantly, the safety and well-being of the children are being met as well. Ms. Yates is a team player and is willing to assist by any means necessary to ensure there is no delay with permanency. Ms. Yates has been and will continue to be an asset for the children we serve in this population.

I have been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem since May 2012, and it was my extreme pleasure to have worked closely with Jessica Yates as a Best Interest Attorney for 5 years. As we collaborated through some pretty difficult cases, Jessica always demonstrated compassion for the children involved in those cases, along with being very responsive to my questions, doubts, and apprehensions. Many times, Jessica spent all day in court and would then call me in the evening or on weekends to discuss our concerns. She was a wonderful advocate for the children and greatly impressed me with her ability to synthesize the information presented, both in and out of the courtroom, and communicate it clearly and concisely to get our point across. Jessica’s positive attitude towards difficult situations also helped to encourage me and to alleviate my worries. I always felt that Jessica and I made a great team -- she listened to me, I listened to her, and together, we would figure out the best course of action.
